Department of Veterans Affairs Benefits and Memorials Technical Management Support Services (BAM TMSS)
VA depends on Information Management/Information Technology (IM/IT) systems to meet mission goals. The VA OI&T Product Delivery Service (PDS), Benefits Appeals and Memorial (BAM) Portfolio delivers world-class, veteran-centric capabilities that provide secure, seamless delivery of benefits and services to Veterans and their families. The BAM portfolio consists of a variety of products, programs, and projects that deliver Veteran-centric technology solutions that are available, adaptable, secure, and cost-effective.
Effective September 1, 2019, PDS has adopted a Product Line Management (PLM) model which will complement the Development Security Operations (DevSecOps) approach to product management, software delivery, and overall IT support. DevSecOps will improve the experience of OI&T customers, enable OI&T to deploy new systems and update existing systems more quickly and frequently, and will lower costs by leveraging industry best practices and innovation. This recent organizational transformation included absorption of Benefits Product Support (BPS) and portions of the former Corporate Product Support, which were both previously part of Technology Readiness Support (TRS). As a result, the number of projects and products to be supported has expanded and is expected to further change.
BAM Portfolio currently includes the following Budget Portfolios:
- Compensation and Pension (C&P)
- Benefits Integration and Administration (BIA)
- Loan Guaranty (LGY)
- Education Veteran Readiness and Employment (EVRE)
- Insurance
- Appeals
- Memorial Benefits and Services (MBS)
